Summary :
In the peaceful pose of an animal tearing its prey to pieces, Isabelle FROMENT swallows precut photographs of naked men. Placidly she tears up pieces of legs, heads and arms. Of course, they are mere pictures, but the symbolic meaning of her meal is far-reaching and powerful. The bloody aspect of Saturn as painted by Goya (1820-1823) is missing, but the beastly gesture is nonetheless frightening. Kneeling, naked herself and with her nudity covered by her long hair, Isabelle FROMENT reveals a more dreadful aspect of the representation of women. Forsaking for the occasion her usual mawkish character of a birdbrain, she plays that of a man-eater. We are captivated by her great performance of this role, as she delicately selects her prey, tears it up, swallows it and spits it out, all the while glancing around with a distraught look.
