Summary :
Nothing can stop Lydie Jean-Dit-Panel except a huge needle that fixes her as piece of collection, alongside thousands of things that make up her work. And this approach which consists in gathering the intimate, the secret, the exotic and the “elsewhere”, provides this artist with an inexhaustible, "indestructible" dimension, where everything takes shape under the sign of renewal. These past six years have seen a very special project on process of developing. After the video, her favorite medium, Lydie Jean Dit Panel pushes further the question of the image through the tattoo: another way to make moving image. LJDP gets herself tattooed with a monarch butterfly during each of her trips. Her body gradually comes animated through the rustle of the wings of the only migratory butterfly on our planet. In "La Collection" tattoos placed on the body of the artist, were each photographed immediately after their completion, i.e. in their most perfect radiance. Set in motion at the time of the flapping wings, they cover the properties of rare specimens that would have been captured and collected.
