On the 10th of February 1990, number 68, Quai de Seine in Paris, is destroyed by fire. Nothing remains of the 50 artist's studios that were there. From out of the smoking ruins which I filmed the day after the fire, I tried to evoke moments in the past life of these studios and the frailty of memories.
