Summary :
La lumière du chaos, A shimmering chaos, shows the evolution of video art to digital art and multimedia through a panorama of installations of international artists exhibited between 1991 and 1995 to the Nahon Gallery, the Philippe Gravel Gallery and the Zekou Art Gallery in Paris, at the Festival Vidéoformes in Clermont-Ferrand, at the Multimediale 4 of the Center for Art and Media (ZKM) in Karlsruhe, Germany and the WRO Media Art Biennale in Wroclaw, Poland. The documentary traces the 1970s and 1980s to broach the 1990s.A shimmering chaos speaks of Nam June Paik, art, communication and satellite art, of Ko Nakajima and a personal exhibition « L’âme du bois », of Klaus Vom Bruch and his video installation « Fin de siècle ». It shows the first installations, interactive and immersive, of the ZKM (Center for Art and Media) in Kalsruhe and three musical performances of the WRO Media Art Biennale 1995 in Wroclaw.
It also evokes the beginning of the internet with Douglas Davis and his project "The World's First Collective Sentence".The documentary oscillates between document and fiction by inserting works and writings of these artists, drawn from books or archives, to bring them into resonance with each other.
