Summary :
Another banal party at Mike's home which turns into a nightmarish comedy. Under the impression of being a stranger in his own flat, a world completely influenced by the gushings of the television and pop music, Mike is attacked by a mysterious grill falling from the ceiling, by his iron and by a small group of phantom visitors. This post modern comedy of banality is related to us in a dramatic tone full of suspense, in which an invisible "accomplice" whispers commanding advice to the unfortunate Mike whose life is transformed into a television quiz show. References to the insignificance of American pop culture (Partridge Family, Kingston Trio...) give an idea of a collective cultural unconsciousness formed by bad quality sitcoms, pop songs and publicity. Smith finishes up with a sorry but curiously tender spectacle of Mike eating his cakes while dancing to "Forever in blue jeans" by Neil DIAMOND.
