MOVING VAST AMOUNTS OF WATER TO A BARREN PLACE

of HAHN Alexander

SWITZERLAND, 2004, 00:08:34

Production : HAHN Alexander
Genre : Video art
Keyword : Allegory, Space, Movement, Landscape, Poetry

Summary :
This work is based on a historic flight by Glenn H. Curtis in 1910. It depicts a journey through computer-generated worlds and real landscapes. We fly over clouds, mountains and large expanses of water. The sequences change from close-ups to image in bird’s-eye view; insects and grass are as much part of the structure under examination as flickering flames or wire netting. Electronically generated sounds back this journey though dreams and imagination.
