Summary :
The series "One hundred times on the trade" was launched with a call to film-makers' projects by Wallonie Image Production. This series aims to show the signs, the places and the tools of labour, so as to make up for the strange lack of films on this theme. It includes D'UNE TRAME A L'AUTRE, ECLUSES, GUICHET, COTE ET COURS. This first tape deals with two aspects of weaving, as a craft and as an industry. On a 60 km stretch of the river Meuse between Andenne and Givet, the work of lock keepers has left its mark on the banks of the river. But downstream, balancing locks have replaced the old gate locks. Computers have replaced the pipe and coffee; computer programs have replaced the expert eye and the craft of of the head lock keeper.
