Summary :
How can farm owners save their plot of land and their activity when living on the edge of a large city? What transformations has the surrounding landscape gone through during the last years? Why do they live here now? What is the relation of the owners to their piece of land? To their house?
In Austria, as anywhere else, the cities eat up the countryside. Ebenthal is a village of Carinthia, near Klagenfurt. It is very close to the border of Slovenia. Some 20 years ago, there were merely a few farms in Ebenthal. Nowadays, this village is included in the commercial zones of Klagenfurt.
My film revolves around three women living in Ebenthal ; it tries to grasp the wavering between modernization on the one hand and the safeguarding of the land on the other hand.
