From 1940 to 1944, most attempts to escape towards Spain took place in the Eastern Pyrenees. At that time, André PARENT was 32 years old and worked as a customs officer in La Cabanasse, in Cerdagne. Quite early on, and of his own initiative, he began to help refugees cross the Pyrenees. He is now 80 years old. In an interview, he tells us of this very important part of his life.
