Breda Beban is native Serbian and was raised in Macedonia and Croatia. Together with her boyfriend Hrovje Horvatic, they collaborated in the video and the cinema fields. Painter and artist of performance, Breda Beban was already considered an artist, both in her home town and worldwide since she had participated to several exhibitions like the Biennale of Sydney.

Hrovje Horvatic who studied cinema, worked several years for the State television, making documentary topics related to culture and independently practising creation and personnal experimentation. Their common work generated a set of video works that quickly outsood both in this field and the field of contemporary art. Their works have been exhibited in several festivals, galleries and museums and are the theme of a retrospective at the Whitechapel gallery in 1994. Hrovje Horvatic died in 1997. "Little films to cry to", produced by Breda Beban in 2002-2003, recalls him. The film "Jason's Dream" won the Silver Award for Music Film, Video, Worldfest, Houston International Film Festival, USA, 1998. Today, Breda Beban lives and works in London and Sheffield, where she teaches "Visual Arts and a Reader in Media", at Sheffield Hallam University.
